< Back to News

Asheville, NC., December 19, 2007 - TECT Corporation is pleased to announce a significant expansion of one of its business units, TECT Power. TECT Power is a leading supplier of critical rotating components for gas turbine engines and will expand its manufacturing facilities in Santa Fe Springs, California and Thomasville, Georgia. The expansion plan entails a multi-million dollar investment in state of the art high speed five-axis milling and multi-axis turning equipment in both TECT Santa Fe Springs and TECT Thomasville. This equipment will manufacture complex Blisks, integrally bladed rotors (IBRs) and impellers. The expansion will take place over a period of twenty-four months and will more than double TECT Power's already substantial Blisk, IBR, and impeller capacity while extending its size capability to more than 30 inches in diameter. The new equipment is scheduled to be in production in Santa Fe Springs in the first half of 2008 and the second half of 2008 in Thomasville. This equipment will expand TECT Santa Fe Springs capacity and capabilities, and is a significant advancement in machining technology for the TECT Thomasville facility.

With this highly efficient and advanced new machining equipment coupled with other recent new product manufacturing capabilities added throughout the operation, TECT Power is transforming the way it works to capture new business and deliver a competitive advantage to our customers. TECT Power has been producing critical rotating components for turbine engines for more than 60 years and its current portfolio of products includes Fan Blades, Compressor Blades, Turbine Blades, Blisks, IBRs, Impellers, Discs, Shafts, and Hubs for the aerospace and power generation markets worldwide.
